Officers from Minnesota plunged into frigid Lake Mallalieu waters early Thursday after a woman who led police on a chase allegedly drove her vehicle into the lake. The Hudson Police Department said the officers removed the woman from the vehicle as it was sinking. The woman, identified by Hudson police as 35-year-old Blaine resident Candace M. Maunu, was arrested on suspicion of OWI-fifth offense. According to a news release: Hudson police became involved at 2:15 a.m. after learning of a police pursuit headed east on Interstate 94 from Minnesota.

A Woodbury teenager made his initial appearance last week in St. Croix County Circuit Court on allegations that he possessed nude photos of a juvenile girl with whom he was caught in the backseat of a vehicle in Hudson. Ryan M. Zinkgraf, 18, was charged Aug. 25 with one count of felony child pornography possession and one count of lewd and lascivious behavior, a misdemeanor.
