Girls Swimming and Diving: Woodbury defeats Park in back-and-forth meet

Thursday night

Woodbury 103, Park 80

It was a back-and-forth meet between two rival schools, Park and Woodbury, on Thursday night. The Royals were able to prevail with the win towards the end of the meet over the Wolfpack.

The Wolfpack took first place in the first event, the 200-yard medley relay, but the Royals came back with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle.

Park took the next event with a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM, but Woodbury went on to dominate and earn first place in the next six events to expand the lead.

The Wolfpack took two of the last three events to keep the margin of score close, but Woodbury won one more event towards the end to lock up the win.

These two teams are a couple weeks away from the section meet and about a month away from the state meet. Woodbury will be competing at East Ridge High School this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 6 in the True Team section meet.
