Boys Soccer: Woodbury, East Ridge win on Thursday night
Woodbury 4, Forest Lake 0
It was a big night for Cade Keesling as he scored all four goals for the Royals on Thursday night in a 4-0 win over Forest Lake. The win brings Woodbury’s regular season record to 7-4-2 along with a 6-2 record in the conference.
The Royals will travel to Wayzata at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 to finish out the regular season before they start playing in the section tournament next week.
East Ridge 2, Roseville 0
The Raptors finished the regular season with a 2-0 win over Roseville on Thursday night. The win has brought East Ridge’s regular season record to 7-2-5 on the season with a 5-2-1 conference record.
East Ridge will start section play next week in hopes of reaching the state tournament at the end of October.
Mounds Park Academy 4, New Life Academy 1
The Eagles finished the season with a 4-1 loss over Mounds Park Academy on Wednesday night. That loss brought New Life’s record to 1-14 on the season with section play starting up next week.
The brackets with dates, times and opponents will be released on Sunday, Oct. 7. The Eagles will play two weeks of section play. The section tournament is a win-or-go-home tournament, so New Life will need to continue to win to keep its season alive.
Woodbury 4, Roseville 1
It was a productive first half for Woodbury as the Royals scored three goals in the first 40 minutes. That lead gave Woodbury the momentum and confidence to hold onto the lead in the second half for a 4-1 final on Tuesday night.
The Royals have two more regular season games this week before section play next week. The first game is on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. against Forest Lake with the last game on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at Wayzata.
Cretin-Derham Hall 2, East Ridge 1
Cretin-Derham Hall went into the half with a 1-0 lead over East Ridge, but were able to hold off the Raptors in a 2-1 win on Tuesday night. The loss brings East Ridge's record to 6-2-5 on the season.
The Raptors have one more regular season game before section play next week. East Ridge will play Roseville at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4.
Trinity 7, New Life Academy 0
The Eagles were trailing 1-0 in the first half on Tuesday night against Trinity, but New Life gave up six more goals to make it a 7-0 final. The loss puts New Life's record to 1-13 on the season with one more game left in the regular season.
The Eagles will host Mounds Park Academy at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3. After the game on Wednesday, New Life will head into section play.
