Boys Lacrosse: East Ridge, Woodbury starts the week with wins


East Ridge 14, Mounds View 13

It was a high-scoring and back-and-forth game between two conference opponents, but East Ridge finished with the 14-13 win over Mounds View. It was a big road win for the Raptors on Tuesday night.

At halftime, East Ridge was leading 9-3 and had complete control of the game. Mounds View came storming back, but didn't have enough time to tie the game up.

Isaac Edwards led the Raptors with five goals, while Jack Mohler was right behind him with four goals. Zach Beaubien ended the game with two goals, while Tyler Johnson, Noah Markus and Peter Young each scored one goal.

Thomas Miles was at the goalie net and saved 11 of the 24 shots on Tuesday night.

East Ridge will host White Bear Lake on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m.


Woodbury 11, Hastings 5

It was a strong way to start the week for Woodbury as the Royals defeated Hastings on the road Monday with a final score of 11-5.

Kevin Unwin and Jonah Kopinski led the team with three goals each, while Conor Hooley, Ayden Hooley, Jack Velte, Nate Reetz and Zach Bernstein each scored a goal.

Reetz also contributed with a team-high three assists on Monday. Garet Long saved three shots on six attempts and Grant Eilertson came in for the final eight minutes to save two of the four shots.

The boys will be back on the field as the Royals host Cretin-Derham Hall on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
