Girls Lacrosse: Woodbury earns close win, East Ridge falls in opener


Woodbury 11, Tartan 10 (OT)

It was a back-and-forth game between Woodbury and Tartan on Tuesday night, but the game needed an overtime to determine a winner.

In overtime, Tartan won the faceoff and brought it down to its side of the field. Woodbury forced a turnover allowing eighth grader Alli Hoschka to find the open net and win the game 11-10 for the Royals to start the season.

There were five different Royals that scored on Tuesday night including four goal from Isabel Sanchez and three from Alyssa Hanson. Hallie Oberg and Hoschka each earned one goal, while Adele Salava scored two goals.

It was a big confidence boost for the Royals as they prepare for their next game on Thursday, April 25 at home against Roseville at 7 p.m.

Roseville 8, East Ridge 4

The East Ridge girls lacrosse team opened up the home season with a 8-4 loss against Roseville on Tuesday night.

The girls will play at Park on Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. for a crosstown rivalry game.
