Girls Hockey: East Ridge wins big, Woodbury falls to Stillwater


East Ridge 6, Mounds View 2

It was a dominating 6-2 win for East Ridge on Saturday as the Raptors defeated Mounds View.

East Ridge started the scoring in the first period with a goal from Anne Larsen. The second period was filled with scoring as Addi Scribner started the scoring with two goals and making it a 3-0 lead.

Then, Mounds View scored to make it 3-1 game. Larsen came back and scored her second goal of the game as Mackenzie Werner scored a goal of her own to make it a 5-1 game.

Erin Glancey scored another goal for East Ridge in the third period to make it a 6-2 game and win.

The win brought up East Ridge's record to 11-4-1 on the season as the Raptors host White Bear Lake on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Stillwater 5, Woodbury 3

Woodbury took a 2-1 lead after the first period, but Stillwater came back to win on Saturday with a 5-3 final score.

Nicole Stickels and Elizabeth Lange each scored a goal in the first period to take a 2-1 lead. Stillwater scored two goals in the second period to give the Ponies a 3-2 lead.

Elizabeth Molnau scored in the third period for Woodbury, but it wasn't enough as Stillwater scored two more goals to take the win.

The loss brings Woodbury's record down to 2-8-4 this season as the Royals travel to Cretin-Derham Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 7:15 p.m.


Simley 6, Woodbury 0

Simley had the lead early and never let it go as Woodbury fell 6-0 on Thursday night.

Simley scored two goals in the first, second and third period to total six total goals in the game.

The loss brings Woodbury's record to 2-7-4 on the season as the Royals host a conference game against Stillwater on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
