Gymnastics: Woodbury falls in a tight meet to Mounds View
Mounds View 132, Woodbury 123.55
It was a back-and-forth meet on Thursday night as Mounds View and Woodbury competed in girls gymnastics at Woodbury High School.
Mounds View was able to come out with a close 132-123.55 win over Woodbury, but the Royals were able to have some strong performances from their gymnasts.
Ella Endrizzi led the Royals with the highest total score of 32.375. Endrizzi had strong performances in the beam and the floor as she scored an 8.475 on the beam and 8.375 on the floor.
Sophia Bancker was right behind Endrizzi with a 31.45 total score as her top scores came from vault and beam. Bancker scored an 8.2 on the vault and 8.1 on the beam.
Claire Teagarden had her highest score come in the vault as she scored an 8.25, while Michelle Kittelson had her high score at the vault as well with an 8.1 score.
Mikayla Chu had strong performances in the vault and the floor. Chu scored an 8.3 on the vault, while also scoring an 8.25 on the floor.
Woodbury will have its next meet on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. as the Royals host Roseville.
"We keep making improvements every week and are hoping to peak at the section meet," said Woodbury head coach Amy Pechmann.
