A 46-35 loss at Mounds View on Thursday, Jan. 21 cost the Woodbury girls basketball team more than just its second-place standing in the Suburban East Conference as two of the Royals top contributors were lost to the team.

Guard Kassey Kallman re-broke the same foot that she previously injured in the second game of the season and had returned from at the beginning of the month. The break's recurrence almost certainly means the senior will be lost to the team for the remainder of the year.

Lost for an indeterminate amount of time is freshman guard Kristina White, who injured her knee in the contest with an MRI scheduled for Monday.

"Losing these two girls is very difficult," coach Dave Preller said. "It will certainly change the look of our team."

Woodbury, which had defeated Forest Lake, 68-48, three nights prior to its star-crossed evening at Mounds View, entered this week in third place in the Suburban East Conference with a 10-4 overall record and a 7-2 league mark.

The Royals play Roseville on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and head at East Ridge on Friday, Jan. 29 before hosting Edina the next night.
