Boys Lacrosse: Blaine tops Woodbury on Saturday
Blaine 12, Woodbury 6
After facing a 6-2 deficit at halftime, Woodbury tried to come back in the second half but were stopped by Blaine as the Bengals won 12-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Kevin Unwin, Nate Reetz, Andrew Thompson, Zach Bernstein, Brandon Rolfing and Jonah Kopinski each earned a goal in the game. Garet Long saved 13 of Blaine's 25 shots in the game.
East Ridge 10, Cretin-Derham Hall 2
East Ridge started a little cold with no goals in the first quarter, but came out firing for the final three quarters to win 10-2 over Cretin-Derham Hall on Thursday night.
Jack Mohler took the lead as he scored two goals early in the second quarter to make it 2-0. Then, Noah Markus and Isaac Edwards each added a goal to make it a 4-1 Raptor lead at halftime.
Tyler Johnson added a goal and Markus recorded his second goal of the game in the third quarter to make it 6-1. Cretin made it a 6-2 game to start the fourth quarter, but East Ridge scored four more goals to end the game. Ethan Hoeffel, Dillon Peterson and Ben Marburger recorded their first goals of the game, while Mohler added his third.
Stillwater 14, Woodbury 2
Woodbury hosted the top team in the conference and the No. 2 team in the state on Thursday night. The Royals fell 14-2 to Stillwater to put their record at 5-4 on the season.
The two goals for Woodbury came from Zach Bernstein and Alex Dunleavy, while Garet Long recorded 11 saves on the night.
Woodbury 9, Forest Lake 3
It was a strong game for Woodbury as the Royals defeated Forest Lake 9-3 on Tuesday night.
Nate Reetz led Woodbury with three goals, while six other players each scored one goal each. Kevin Unwin led the Royals with four assists.
Garet Long saw only five shots on goal and he saved two.
