L. Rodney Sheffer

Age 89 1/2

Passed away peacefully Sept. 24th at Boutwell's Landing in Stillwater, MN.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Loren; daughter-in-law, Monika; and grandchildren, Amy, Nicole, Bo Daniel, and Summer, all of Stillwater.

Rodney served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the aircraft carrier, Tarawa, and was honorably discharged.

Rodney was a passionate teacher of biology and chemistry. He began his career in Chippewa Falls, WI. He later taught at Washburn High School in Minneapolis, but spent the bulk of his career at Lincoln and Jefferson High Schools in Bloomington.

He received his B.S. degree from Eau Claire State and attained his Master's from the University of Utah. He was a graduate of Rice Lake High School, Rice Lake, WI.

He and his wife Carol were able to enjoy years of travel after they retired. They traveled across the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and England. They also had retirement homes on Cedar Lake near Aitkin, and later on Bay Lake near Garrison. They also spent seven years at a winter home in Summerfield, FL. Their last home was in Woodbury. Recently, they moved to Boutwell's Landing in Stillwater.

A family memorial will be planned at a later date.
