Learn about ocean acidification at Davanni's in Woodbury
There will be an informational event about problems facing the world's oceans starting 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Davanni's in Woodbury. The event will include viewing the film "Acid Test" which describes the problem of ocean acidification and is narrated by Sigourney Weaver. Following the film, Macalester College Professor Louisa Bradtmiller will provide further information about the critical problems facing the world's oceans.
The event comes the weekend before World Oceans Day observed Friday, June 8. It will provide attendees information about the problem of ocean acidification.
Bradtmiller is an associate professor of Environmental Science at Macalester College. She is also involved in ongoing research into ocean biogeochemistry and nutrient cycling, with a focus on the transfer of carbon between the ocean and atmosphere during periods of past climate change.
