Open houses will focus on Bailey Road growth

The public is invited to hear about proposed upgrades to Bailey Road in Woodbury.

Washington County Public Works will host three open houses Dec. 12 and 14 at East Ridge High School.

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and provide input into the project, which will improve traffic capacity along the Bailey Road corridor from Maxwell Avenue to Woodbury Drive. An estimated 3,000 new housing units will be built  in the area by 2021, according to county estimates. The work will commence in 2020.

Each open house will focus on one of three sections of Bailey Road. All three will take place in the East Ridge Media Center at 4200 Pioneer Drive in Woodbury.

No formal presentation is scheduled so the public can at any time between the following hours:

5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 12, to discuss the Pioneer Drive to Woodbury Drive portion;  

7:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12, to discuss the Woodlane Drive to Radio Drive section; and

5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 14, to discuss the Military Road intersection. The East Ridge High School Media Center
