Washington County Citizen Review Panel seeks members
The Washington County Citizen Review Panel is seeking members. The advisory group panel meets monthly with the mission, "Citizens partnering with child protection services advocating to keep children safe."
Panel members volunteer to work with child protection staff of Washington County Community Services and the state of Minnesota. Members analyze child protection trends, policies and procedures, provide insights into the child protection system, recommend and advocate for needed changes and resources, and increase community understanding and investments in protecting children.
The members prepare an annual report containing a summary of the panel's activities and recommendations to improve the child protection system.
The panel currently has eight members who serve initial two-year terms. Members are eligible to serve three two-year terms. Washington County is seeking to add two to four new members this year.
Those interested in becoming a member may apply by contacting Nissa Knutson, community services supervisor, at 651-430-4111 or send an email to Nissa.Knutson@co.washington.mn.us.
Panel members need to be residents of Washington County, complete an application process and participate in a personal interview. Applications are on the county website by seeing www.co.washington.mn.us.
