District 833 teachers awarded grants

More than $46,000 in grants were awarded teachers in District 833 recently.

- The HB Fuller Foundation approved six STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) grants totaling $12,660 for middle school teachers.

- Cottage Grove Middle School teacher Josh Gawlik received $4,000 for two 3D prototyping printer kits for the STEM department.

- Lake Middle School teacher Logan Carstensen was awarded $4,400 for two 3D printers and one scanner for all math and science classes.

- Oltman Middle School teacher Callie Chenault received $4,260 for a 3D printer and supplies for seventh- and eighth- grade science classes.

- The St. Croix Valley Foundation gave grants to enhance music education: $2,000 to Woodbury Middle School and $3,325 to Park High School.

- 3M awarded $9,000 each to the robotic teams at all three high schools.

- Newport Elementary School teacher Lori Bertran received a $700 Target Field Trip Grant for a field trip to the Minnesota Sea Life Aquarium at the Mall of America.

- Allissa Bagley, a social studies teacher at Woodbury Middle School, received a $660 library research grant for sixth grade students to visit the Wilson Library to research a history day project.
