Three juveniles arrested in connection with Woodbury break-in
WOODBURY — Three juveniles were arrested in connection with an alleged burglary early Friday morning.
Woodbury police were called just after 3 a.m. to the 8900 block of Springwood Circle for a burglary, Commander John Altman said.
A resident observed the license plate of the suspects' vehicle and shared it with authorities. A Washington County Sheriff's deputy then located the vehicle at Interstate 694 and Minnesota Highway 36. The vehicle fled but "became disabled," so the suspects fled on foot. Ramsey County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested the three suspects shortly after and they were booked at the Washington County Jail.
Because the suspects are minors, authorities will not be releasing their names.
Possible charges include first-degree burglary, theft, tampering with a motor vehicle and vandalism.
Altman said Friday afternoon that Woodbury police had received "numerous reports throughout the day" they believe are connected to the suspects arrested, along with other theft and burglary activity possibly involving other unidentified suspects. Investigations are currently ongoing.
"Woodbury Public Safety is grateful for the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, Cottage Grove police, Oakdale police, and the citizen that was able to provide the critical information in identifying the suspect vehicle," Altman said. "We would like to remind residents to close garage doors at night and to lock exterior doors — including doors from the house to the garage. It is also important to not leave garage door openers or valuables inside vehicles parked outside."
