Woodbury man charged with fifth OWI offense
Patrick Michael Grovum, 39, of Woodbury, has been charged with his fifth offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
On Jan. 22, at approximately 3:24 a.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper stopped a vehicle for driving 86 mph in a 70 mph zone. The driver was identified as Grovum, who had four previous convictions for OWI. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Grovum was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Grovum was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then to the Dunn County Jail. He is being charged with operating while intoxicated-fifth offense, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
