Madison Place holds successful fundraiser but also needs close to $80,000 yet
A good crowd of supporters gathered at a fundraiser for the Madison’s Place all-inclusive playground project, held Sept. 22 at Osteria at the Prestwick Golf Course.
A project of the Madison Claire Foundation, Madison’s Place is a $830,000 project spearheaded by the foundation’s founder, Dana Millington. Millington has been working to raise the funds to cover the playground, which will be constructed on property at Bielenberg Sports Center, for several years. The Hops & Vines beer- and wine-tasting fundraiser held last week was the latest in fundraising events.
Millington was pleased with the outcome, saying that a number of late registrations helped to boost attendance.
A community build for Madison’s Place was scheduled for Sept. 18-19, but had to be canceled due to damage caused by rain in the days before the planned build. However, once the playground site is dried out, a modified community build will be scheduled. Interested volunteers are encouraged to watch the Madison Claire Foundation Facebook page, by the same name, for details.
The Hops & Vines event was sponsored by Hohensteins, Osteria and MGM Liquor.
In addition, a guest of the event has offered a $10,000 matching funds gift to help finish the fundraising. From now through Nov. 30, donations of up to $10,000 will be matched.
