ORDINANCE NO. 1961

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF WOODBURY, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA PROVIDING THAT THE CITY CODE BE AMENDED BY AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE V, PERSONNEL, DIVISION 1 - GENERALLY; SECTION
2-203 - RESIGNATION

SECTION ONE. Amendment: That Chapter 2 Administration, Article V Personnel, Division 1 - Generally - Sections 2-203 - Resignation be amended to delete the same in its entirety and substitute the following therefore.
Sec. 2-203. - Resignation.
(a)Any non-supervisory employee wishing to leave the city service in good standing shall file with his/her department head at least 10 working days before leaving a written resignation stating the effective date of the resignation. Any employee designated as a supervisor shall provide such notice at least 15 working days before the effective date of resignation. Any employee designated as a department head shall provide such notice at least 20 working days before the effective date of resignation. Failure to comply with this procedure may be considered cause for denying such employee future employment by the city and denying terminal leave benefits. The City Administrator may revise the effective date of the resignation upon the needs of the city or the employee. An employee's termination date may not be extended by applying unused sick, personal, holiday or vacation time. The separation of employment date is always the employee's last day worked, or in some cases, the last day of his or her approved leave of absence. Holidays and use of accrued vacation, personal and sick hours during the notice period shall not be counted as working days.
(b)Unauthorized absence from work for a period of three working days may be considered by the department head as a resignation without benefits.
(c)Nothing in this provision modifies the at-will employment status in any way.
SECTION TWO. Effective date.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect following its passage and publication according to law.
