Rotary Club inducts Plugaru as new member
The Rotary Club of Woodbury has announced that Victoria Plugaru was recently inducted as a new member of the organization.
Plugaru is the branch manager for TCF Bank in Woodbury. She and her husband, Nicholas, live in Woodbury. She first came to the United States from Moldova on a Rotary exchange with the Rotary Club of Hayward, Wis.
Based on this experience in the Midwest, Plugaru decided to pursue her college education at Hamline University. She was able to pursue this thanks to scholarships from the Hayward Rotary Club and Hamline University.
When asked why she wanted to join the Rotary Club of Woodbury, she said, "This club matches with my personal desire to bring service to the community.
"In addition I truly believe in the mission of Rotary and am a living example of its positive reach across the world. It is now my opportunity as a Rotarian to give back to others because I have been fortunate to have received so many opportunities from the doors that Rotary has opened to me," Plugaru said.
The Rotary Club of Woodbury serves the community of South Washington County including Cottage Grove, Newport and St. Paul Park.
All residents or business professionals working in these communities interested in finding out more about Rotary are invited to speak with club members at the club's breakfast meetings held Thursday mornings from 7 to 8:15 a.m. at the Stonecrest Café, lower level of Stonecrest 8725 Promenade Lane in Woodbury.
