Willard Larson, 77, of Woodbury, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 9, 2010, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at Woodbury United Methodist Church in the spring. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association , St. Olaf College, or the Woodbury Community Theatre.
Howard N. Lane, 84, passed away in his Woodbury home on Feb. 2, 2010, due to natural causes. A private service was held Feb. 6 at Wulff Funeral Home in Woodbury. Lane was laid to rest Feb. 8 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Evelyn J. Gray, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Feb. 15, 2010. A memorial service was held Feb. 17 at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home in Woodbury.
William Anco, age 21 months, died Feb. 11. Visitation was held Feb. 17 at Wulff Funeral Home in Woodbury. Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Woodbury.
William Thomas Burke, 86, of Woodbury, died peacefully at home with loved ones on Saturday, Feb. 13. Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 18, at Wulff Funeral Home in Woodbury. Private service was to be scheduled at a later date. 651-738-9615.
Fern R. (Rostad) Rasmussen, age 89, of Woodbury, died Jan. 21, 2010. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Theresa Rostad; beloved husband of 61 years, Paul; and sister, Jeanne McRae. Survived by children, Sally (Jim) Schwartze, Carol (William) Rasmussen Hering, and Tom (Kay) Rasmussen; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen (Harvey) Huntington; sisters-in-law, Inez Rasmussen and Jean Sivertson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury.
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marie Caroline Warnecke (Storhaug), passed away peacefully on Dec. 5, 2009, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minn. An inurnment service for family and friends will be held in spring 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moorhead, Minn. Marie was born on August 13, 1922, in Thief River Falls, Minn., to the late Haakon and Olga (Windsnes) Storhaug. She was a 1940 graduate of Lincoln High School and spent her early adult years working in Thief River Falls.
Vivian E. Fjelstad, age 85, of Woodbury, died peacefully on Dec. 4, 2009. Graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., in 1946, and majored in home economics and biology. Retired from teaching in 1952. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, Luther; son, Mark of Nerstrand; daughter, Margo (Brian Egerman) of Roseville; sisters, Mil Johnson and Grace (Jim) Jacobs; sisters-in-law, Maxine Thorkelson and Margaret Fjelstad; also many other loving relatives and friends. Preceded in death by brother, Willmar Thorkelson. Vee was very active in the WELCA, formerly known as the ALCW.
Ruth Eileen (Bostrom) Notaro, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Boutwells Landing Presbyterian Home in Oak Park Heights, Minn. Ruth was born on March 15, 1925, to Arvid and Helen (Lind) Bostrom in Two Harbors, Minn. She was confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Two Harbors, and graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1943. Ruth then attended St. Paul School of Business. She served as secretary to bankers in Duluth before becoming the first office professional hired by Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay, Minn.
