The 2009 campaign came to a bitter end for the Woodbury baseball team as the Royals lost their second straight game in the Section 4AAA playoffs and were eliminated from the postseason. Fifth-seeded WHS followed up a 6-4 loss at No. 4 Hill-Murray on Tuesday with a 6-5 defeat at the hands of No. 7 Roseville on Wednesday at Royals Field. Kyle Kronforst (pictured) and his Woodbury teammates wrapped the season with a 14-9 record.

The fifth-seeded Woodbury baseball team dropped into the loser's bracket of the Section 4AAA playoffs with a 6-4 loss at No. 4 seed Hill-Murray on Tuesday night. Mike Rommes (pictured) and the Royals host seventh-seeded Roseville -- whom WHS has defeated twice this season -- on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

Three days after needing 14 innings to defeat Park, the Woodbury baseball team required just five frames to wallop Roseville, 11-1, on Monday. Andrew Herbert (pictured) and Mike Rommes each contributed two RBI in the win, with starting pitcher Rich Klein going the distance on the hill for the victory.
