New Life senior Rob LeMay put the finishing touch on his high-school career with a fourth-place run in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.29 seconds on the soggy track at Hamline University in the Class A State Track and Field Meet finals on Saturday.
NLA Track: Eagles earn two Class A medals

Woodbury freshman Nicole Either (pictured) finished 16th in the triple jump at her debut in the Class AA Girls State Track and Field Meet on a rainy Saturday morning. Either leapt 33 feet, 7 inches in the soggy pit on the dreary day at Hamline University. Royals teammates Lauren Domski, Jennifer Wang and Katisha Bishop ran one day earlier in preliminary rounds under sunny skies, however no WHS competitors qualified for the medal rounds of their respective events.
WHS Girls Track: Either leaps through the drops

Woodbury's Marty Joyce ran through the rain to earn a personal-best time in the 1600-meter run at the Class AA Boys State Track and Field Meet on Saturday at Hamline University. Joyce took eighth in the event with a time of 4 minutes, 23.22 seconds. Teammate Cooper Wahlo took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 45 feet, 4.75 inches in far better conditions on Friday.

Several dozen supporters of 4-H attended the Washington County Board meeting Tuesday, March 24. County commissioners voted to eliminated funding for two 4-H coordinator positions effective Sept. 15, which means Washington County 4-H clubs will have a presence at the county and state fairs this summer.
