Woodbury Parks and Recreation and KidCreate Studio offered a week-long "Princess Dress Up Art Camp" where participants created a number of wearable art projects that helped turn themselves into princesses - crowns, fair wings, gowns and masquerade masks.

Woodbury resident Karen Flores, a seventh grader at Battle Creek Middle School in St. Paul, will have her artwork featured on electronic billboards through June 2 as part of the Flint Hills International Children's Festival and Clear Water ArtWalk.

Local author and illustrator Nancy Carlson visited Woodbury Elementary on Oct. 17 where she conducted a drawing sessions with the school's fourth graders. Students drew along as Carlson taught them how to draw several of her signature characters - Harriet the dog, Loudmouth George the rabbit and Arnie the cat.

Woodbury High School freshman Ellen O'Connell was named a state finalist in the Doodle 4 Google art competition. The competition tasks students with designing a new Google logo based on the year's theme. This year students were asked they would time travel to; O'Connell said ancient Egypt.

Woodbury High School senior Kyra Anderson has received a National Scholastic Art Award for her photography. Anderson will travel to New York City June 1 for an award ceremony at Carnegie Hall. Anderson received a silver medal.
