Woodbury girls golf: Fisher leads Royals' attack

Strong finishes – especially on a northland road trip – punctuated a busy week on the links for Woodbury.

The Royals got things going on May 12, when they competed in two nine-hole matches. The first, at Hastings Country Club, saw sophomore Annemarie Fisher earn co-medalist honors after carding a 38 on a par 36. Senior Kalley Hakes shot a 49, while freshman Kelsey Campbell shot a 52.

Later in the day, the Royals competed at North Oaks Golf Club, where Fisher led the team with a 44. Hakes shot 49 at North Oaks, while sophomore Jess Caron carded a 51 and Campbell finished with a 52.

The Royals placed fourth in a tournament at River Oaks, where Fisher led the team with a 42. Hakes finished with a 45, while Caron shot a 46. Freshman Bailey Misura carded a 48.

On Friday, Woodbury traveled north to Duluth, where the Royals finished second of eight teams competing at Ridgeview Golf Club. Fisher placed fourth overall in the tournament after shooting an 80. Hakes carded an 85 for the Royals, while Caron finished with a 90 and Campbell shot a 96, followed by Kristina Swanson’s 97.

While in the northland, Woodbury also competed at the Northland Country Club Duluth Invitation, where the Royals placed third. Fisher led the Royals with an 84 on the day. Hakes shot an 89, Caron carded a 92 and Campbell shot a 96.
