The East Ridge boys basketball team held its fifth-annual youth basketball camp at East Ridge high school from June 9-June 13. The year’s camp hosted a record 208 youth players, a marked increase coming off of the Raptors Suburban East Conference title last season.

“We are excited about the direction of our program,” East Ridge coach Paul Virgin said.

East Ridge basketball’s theme for this summer is “Play hard, play smart, play together,” something that was exemplified at the youth camp, Virgin said.

“This is the East Ridge way of playing basketball and it is very enjoyable when we get 208 young men working towards the same goal,” he said. “It is amazing what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit.”
