The East Ridge gymnastics team scored a season-high 134.375, but couldn't outgun rival Park on Thursday, Jan. 10 at Park High School.

Park, which is just finally getting healthy after myriad injuries slowed progress at the season's start, scored a season-high 139.775 in the win. East Ridge is now 2-3 overall in dual meets and in the Suburban East Conference.

Leading East Ridge, which has been dealing with injuries of its own, was junior Kelly McKenzie. The former Park gymnast, who was out of the lineup for the Raptors' last meet, returned to give East Ridge its best score of the night - a 9.275 - in the vault. McKenzie also had East Ridge's second-best score on the bars (8.1) and second-best score on the beam (8.375), but didn't compete in the floor exercise. In addition, East Ridge freshman Megan Trollen had one of her best meets of the year, scoring a team-high 9.075 on the bars and a team-best 9.0 on the beam, along with delivering an 8.625 in the floor exercise.

East Ridge freshman Kelsey Deverell had the Raptors' top all-around score with a 32.55. It included an 8.5 on the vault, which was good for third on the team, an 8.65 in the floor, which tied for second-best on the team, a 7.8 on the bars, which was third-best on the team and a 7.6 on the beam, which was the fourth-best score of the night by a Raptor in the event.

Other top scores turned in by Raptors gymnasts included: An 8.75 by Libby Lawrence, which was the top Raptors' score in the meet, an 8.725 by freshman Karina Joiner on the vault that was the Raptors' second-best score in the event and an 8.525 by senior Jamila Joiner on the vault, which was the third-best score by East Ridge in the event.

East Ridge plays host to Cretin-Derham Hall on Thursday, Jan. 17, in Woodbury. The meet starts at 6:30 p.m.
