The 20th Annual Afton Area Business Association's May Fair will be May 19-20 in Afton's Old Village. The event will include food and art vendors, children's games and activities, a blood drive, a yard sale and live entertainment.

Man's best friend was celebrated Saturday during the third annual Bark for Life of South Washington County, held at Ojibway Park. Bark for Life, a companion event and fundraiser for the Relay for Life of South Washington County. This year's event drew 68 registered dogs and raised $3,600. "They have a story to tell too," said event organizer Dave Olsen. To date, Bark for Life has raised over $7,000 for the American Cancer button

Bailey Elementary is in the process of raising $50,000 to purchase the Intensity Fitness Play Complex, from Burke Premier Play Equipment. The equipment will be geared towards the older students at the school and include a lot more active equipment, rather than stationary slides and monkey bars

East Ridge High School Link Crew descended on the Afton Alps Ski and Recreation Area for some tubing on Feb. 9.  Students who went tubing could either go down the hill solo, or speed down the slope with a partner.
