Tennis: East Ridge wins two SEC duals

The East Ridge girls' tennis team improved its record to 6-0 in the Suburban East Conference with two wins in dual meets last week.

The Raptors' victories included a 5-2 decision against Mounds View on Thursday, Sept. 21. Wins in the singles lineup came from Regan Dolezal at No. 1 singles (7-5, 7-5), Megan Karrow at No. 2 (6-7(5), 6-1, 6-0) and Jordyn Brown at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1).

At first doubles, Julia Travis and Kailey Courteau won 6-4, 6-1. At third doubles, Anna Tokheim and Abbie Marshall also won 6-3, 6-4.

The Raptors also swept in the singles lineup and grabbed victories at first and second doubles in a 6-1 decision against Cretin-Derham Hall. Wins in the singles lineup came from Dolezal, Karrow, Brown and Minneh Song. The Raptors' first doubles team of Travis and Courteau won, and the second doubles team of Sailaja Bommareddy and Mary Purtell won in three sets.

East Ridge will wrap up its regular season schedule with a home match against Roseville on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and a road match at Forest Lake on Thursday, Sept. 28.

The Class 2A, Section 3 team tournament will begin Monday, Oct. 2.
