East Ridge girls basketball: Raptors’ five-game win streak comes to an end

The East Ridge girls basketball team’s five-game win streak came to an end last week in back-to-back losses to two of the Suburban East Conference elite teams.

East Ridge (15-6; 8-6 SEC) fell 62-44 at Roseville on Tuesday, Feb. 11, before losing to No. 5-ranked White Bear Lake 63-42 at home on Friday, Feb. 14.

Roseville (17-5; 9-5 SEC) went up 31-20 at the half then held on for the 18-point win. 

East Ridge senior Jamie Swanson had a team-high 20 points in the loss, but was the only Raptors player to score in double figures. 

Against White Bear Lake (20-2; 12-2 SEC) Swanson scored a team-high 14 points and Mariah Sexe netted 13 points.

East Ridge took on Cretin-Derham Hall (13-9; 8-6 SEC) on Tuesday, Feb. 18, after the Bulletin went to print. Next, the Raptors face Stillwater (8-14; 4-10 SEC) on Friday at home before battling Hudson, Wis., on Saturday in Woodbury.
