East Ridge gymnastics: Raptors score season-high 141.15 in win over Stillwater

The East Ridge gymnastics team made another early season statement last week.

The Raptors scored a season-high 141.15 in a Suburban East Conference win over Stillwater on Dec. 17 at East Ridge High School.

The Raptors beat the Ponies 141.15-132.325 to improve to 3-1 on the year.

East Ridge sophomore Megan Trollen placed first on the bars, beam, floor and in the all-around in the meet to lead the Raptors. Trollen scored a 36.5 in the all-around, including a 9.0 on bars, 9.15 on the beam and a 9.25 in the floor exercise. She also took third in the vault with a 9.1.

East Ridge sophomore Wren Anderson placed second in the all-around with a 35.8, taking first in the vault with a 9.45, second on the floor with a 9.0, third on the bars with an 8.9 and third on the beam with an 8.45. 

Also, seventh-grader Olivia Trebesch tied for first place on the bars with a 9.0 and sophomore Taryn Johnson earned second place in the vault with a 9.15.

The win over the Ponies came on the heels of a 139.5 to 122.7 conference win over Hastings on Dec. 12 at East Ridge.

East Ridge gymnasts took the top three spots in the all-around in the meet.

Anderson led the way, earning first place with a 36.65. Trollen was second (35.9) and Johnson was third (34.375). Anderson earned first place in every event. She scored a 9.4 in the vault, a 9.05 on the bars, an 8.875 on the beam and a 9.5 in the floor exercise.

Trollen was second in each event. She scored a 9.05 in the vault, an 8.85 on the bars, an 8.7 on the beam and a 9.125 in the floor exercise.

Johnson placed third in the vault (8.95), on the bars (8.675) and on the beam (8.45). 

Next, East Ridge will compete in the Big Lake Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 4. The Raptors then return to conference action against rival Park on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at East Ridge.
