Girls' Golf: Royals win on the road and at home

Making the trek to Mankato on Saturday, the Woodbury girls' golf team took top honors with a team score of 357 at North Links Golf Course.

The Royals score was enough to hold off Mankato West's 384 and St. Peter's 405.

With two of the meet's top three scores, the Royals were led by medalist Aayushi Sarkar's 78, which was eight strokes better than second-place Camryn Steinberg of Mankato East.

Maddi Hanson finished in a tie for third place with a round of 90. Hannah Daly added a 93, and Michelle Yang rounded out the team score with a 96.

At the Troy Burne Invitational on Wednesday, May 9, Woodbury shot a team score of 332 to win its home tournament. Sarkar had a team-best 80, followed by 81 from Hanson, 83 from Ananda Zhai and 88 via Yang.
