East Ridge baseball: Raptors keep rolling, improve to 6-1

East Ridge senior pitcher Chris Richardson threw six innings of three-hit ball Thursday in a 4-1 victory over White Bear Lake in White Bear Lake.

Richardson's only blemish came in the first inning when he gave up one run that gave the Bears a quick 1-0 lead, but it was smooth sailing after that. Richardson went on to strike out seven hitters for the win.

Raptors sophomore Carter Stoehr finished 2-for-4 at the plate to lead East Ridge (6-1, 6-1 SEC).

The Raptors defeated White Bear Lake 11-3 Tuesday in Woodbury as seniors Ryan Gregory and Luke Weimer each went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

East Ridge junior David Wermers allowed one earned run in a complete-game win. Wermers had three strikeouts and gave up two runs in the first inning before throwing five scoreless innings. The Bears tacked on a run in the seventh.

The Raptors answered White Bear Lake's first-inning rally to tie the game at 2-2 and took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second.

East Ridge extended the lead to 5-2 in the third inning before breaking out a six-run sixth inning to put the game away.

Before beating White Bear Lake, East Ridge supplied plenty of power Monday in a 15-14 victory over Hastings, but the Raiders seemed to have an answer nearly the whole way.

Raptors junior Luke Ringhofer paced the team with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate. Ringhofer drove in four runs including a game-winning sacrifice fly.

Gregory went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI to add to the offensive fireworks.

Stoehr got the win on the mound for East Ridge.
