Girls hockey: Woodbury falls to Chaska/Chanhassen
Despite jumping out 1-0 first-period lead, the Woodbury girls hockey team gave up four unanswered goals in a road loss Thursday to Chaska/Chanhassen.
Senior forward Sydney Falconer logged the Royals' only goal in the 4-1 loss. She was assisted by fellow senior forward Emily Moris.
Chaska/Chanhassen pumped in two goals apiece in the second and third periods. Kaitlin Storo paced the Storm Hawks with two goals and one assist.
Chaska/Chanhassen's Leah Johnson also recorded three points on one goal and two assists.
Woodbury goaltender Emilie Tappe stopped 20 of the Storm Hawks' 24 shots on goal.
The loss drops the Royals to 5-4 on the season. They square off next at 3 p.m. Saturday on the road at Park.
