Park's Tori Novotny won the floor exercise and the all-around to lead the Wolfpack to a team triumph against visiting Woodbury in girls gymnastics last Thursday.

Park won the meet 130.525-118.2.

Novotny finished first in the floor exercise (8.45), tied for second on the beam (8.6), and was third in the vault (8.45).

Novotny scored 32.375 to take first in the all-around, followed by Woodbury's Haley Lind (31.70) and Sophie Bancker (31.225).

Park gymnasts won all four team events, vault, bars, beam and floor.

Emma Harvang of the Wolfpack scored an 8.725 — the highest individual score of the meet—to take first on the beam. Teammate Rachel Williamson of the Wolfpack finished first on the bars (8.450).

"There were a lot of improvements," Park head coach Ali Flaata said. "Bars scores definitely went up. We got some connections going on bars that increased our scores a lot. We had like seven girls stick beam which hasn't happened all year."

Woodbury's Sophie Bancker scored first in the vault (8.5) to lead the Royals.

The Wolfpack competed with Mandy Hafner limited to just a single event, the bars, because of a sprained toe.

"With Mandy out the girls really had to step up and kind of cover some of those places where she was a our key contributor," Flaata said. "Emma Harvang had a great beam routine. She stuck. She's been adding in some new jumps and stuff, so it was really nice to see that. She also added some more elements into her bar routine, and she had a brand new floor routine. So it was an all-around good night for her.

"Rachel Williamson also had a great bar routine," Flaata added. "Tori Novotny had a great vault. She did her half-full very nicely. A lot of good stuff. It was one of our best meets for sure."

Woodbury coach Pierre Peterson said he was happy with his team's overall performance, and particularly on the beam.

"I'm just happy that the girls came together, especially at the end, because it's been a long couple weeks. The girls are burnt out right now," Peterson said.
