New Life Academy girls basketball: Eagles suffer two losses in tough week

The New Life Academy girls basketball team lost two tough games last week at the hands of some great opponents.

On Dec. 11, the Eagles faced St. Croix Lutheran at home and lost 48-30.

Sophomore Valerie Hohol led the team in scoring and rebounding with 9 points and 15 rebounds. Junior Emily Bouldan added 6 points.

On Thursday night, the Eagles ran into the top-ranked team in state section 1A and lost 91-43, dropping New Life Academy to an 0-6 record on the year.

Hohol again led the team in both scoring and rebounding, recording a double-double. She scored 13 points and got 14 rebounds. Bouldan was again next best in scoring with 12 points.

The Eagles had home games on Monday and Tuesday night against Visitation and St. Paul Humboldt, respectively, after the Bulletin went to press. NLA doesn't hit the hardwood again until Dec. 27, when it takes on Minneapolis Roosevelt in the first round of the Fridley Tournament.
