East Ridge boys soccer: Raptors tie Park, roll past South St. Paul

Alec Fitts and the East Ridge boys soccer team tied rival Park and beat South St. Paul in its final regular season games to finish 9-5-2 overall on the year.

After finishing its Suburban East Conference schedule with a tie game with Park, Connor Stevenson had two goals Saturday for the East Ridge boys soccer team as it rolled past South St. Paul 2-0 in Woodbury.

Both goals came in the second half after Zach Boerjan served balls into the box. The Raptors overcame a slow first half to finish their opportunities and dominate possession for much of the game.

East Ridge (9-5-2, 3-5-1 SEC) wrapped up the regular season with a victory after losing 3-2 Tuesday against Cretin-Derham Hall and tying Park 2-2 Thursday.

Stevenson scored both goals against the Wolfpack to give him four goals in the past two games.

The Raptors are seeded fifth for the Section 4AA tournament and will face fourth-seeded Woodbury Thursday at 5 p.m. in Woodbury. The Royals defeated East Ridge 4-0 in the first game of the season.
