LETTER: Schafer demonstrates leadership ability
I was excited to see in the Oct. 7 issue of the Bulletin that Shelly Schafer has decided to run for the Woodbury state representative seat. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Shelly over the years, and think that she would make a fantastic representative.
Shelly has demonstrated leadership ability; she served as president of her parent-teacher-student organization (PTSO) and as chairwoman of the Community Education Advisory Council. Her nearly 20 years of working with members of Congress in roles providing excellent constituent services honed her skills at working with diverse groups from all geographies and political perspectives. These are skills sorely needed in St. Paul.
Shelly has a deep network of supporters in Woodbury from her active participation in numerous civic and community activities. She cares about our community, our state, our kids, and our future. She’ll represent us proudly in St. Paul.
It’s a long time until November 2016. We’ll likely see lots of candidates come and go for this important seat. It’s clear to me that Shelly is the candidate who has the skills, who shares our values and would represent Woodbury well at the State Capitol.
Please join me in supporting Shelly Schafer.
