The East Ridge girls' golf team is full of young players. But that doesn't mean they are inexperienced.

Only one senior, Natalie Griffith, graduated from last year's team that finished in the middle of the pack in the Suburban East Conference. There are three seniors on the roster this season, including experienced players Hannah Groch and Megan Youngstrom.

Cassandra Stephens, Kayla Glatzmaier, Fiona Claugherty and Quincy Larson are also back with some experience in playing varsity golf.

"I think the experience is going to help," coach Kathy Madden said. "The girls, even though we're split (in team experience), they're really starting to, only after a week and a half, get to know each other and gel a lot more."

Madden is looking for the Raptors to improve on their middle of the conference finish last season. A busy early schedule will give the program an opportunity to rotate players throughout the lineup this spring.

Starting with an invitational April 17, East Ridge is scheduled to play five meets through the end of the month.
