Pie Five Pizza opens at CityPlace
Want a fresh pizza in less than five minutes? Woodbury’s new Pie Five Pizza can help you with that.
It is, Senior Vice President of Operations Chris Smith said, a fast-casual pizza place that allows customers to either choose from an existing recipe or build a pizza from the crust up — and get that pizza in five minutes or less.
“We’re called Pie Five Pizza because the entire process should take about five minutes or less,” Smith said. “You pay for your pizza and you take your pizza.”
A product of the Rave Restaurant group, formerly the Pizza in Holdings group, the first Pie Five Pizza opened in 2011 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Woodbury’s store — which is the second to open in Minnesota — is the 73rd franchise or corporate store to open. The corporate stores operate in seven markets, with the Twin Cities being the most recent.
“We really feel strongly that, with our concept, the Twin Cities market area will support about 35 stores,” Smith said. “We think Woodbury will be a very strong location.”
One advantage Pie Five brings, he said, is that customers can choose from four different crusts — crispy artisan thin, classic pan, neapolitan whole grain thin, and gluten free. The pan-style pizza is a 9-inch crust; the rest are 10 inches.
“We have a really good gluten-free crust. We get a lot of compliments from people when they try our gluten-free crust for the first time,” Smith said.
At $6.99 each, the pizzas are affordable. Customers have the option to add salads or side salads for meals, too. A bundle of one pizza pie, a side salad and soda is $10.99.
Pie Five Pizza is located at 245 Radio Drive, Suite K, in the CityPlace development. Hours are not posted yet, but more information about the store can be found by visiting piefivepizza.com.
“We’re extremely excited about getting going in Woodbury,” Smith said. “We think folks in the Midwest love pizza. They embrace new food concepts.”
