County Board OKs updated tobacco policy

Vaping in Washington County buildings is officially a thing of the past.

The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved a revised county tobacco use policy during the April 14 meeting.

In conformance with Minnesota’s Clean Indoor Air Act, the policy now prohibits use of electronic cigarettes in all of the county’s facilities.

The policy also prohibits Washington County employees, contractors and the general public from using all tobacco products, except in designated locations, on all of the county-owned property.

That property includes both county buildings and county-owned vehicles.
