Madison's Place selected for Twins 'fans choose' $500,000 grant

The Madison Claire Foundation has been chosen as a finalist for the Minnesota Twins “fans choose” all-star legacy giving grant. As a finalist, the foundation will be competing against other nonprofits in a fan vote for a $500,000 grant.

Voting has begun and ends at 4 p.m. July 10. Fans can vote by visiting Voting is open to the public and is done by email address, once per day per email address.

The Madison Claire Foundation is one of seven finalists chosen out of 100 applications received to compete during the MLB All-Star Game. Major League Baseball, the Minnesota Twins, the Twins Community Fund and the Pohlad Family Foundation opened up this grant opportunity to regional nonprofits with a capital project underway. The finalist selection panel based their decisions on factors including community impact, the size and scope of each project, project timeline and quality of submission.

If the Madison Claire Foundation were to win this grant, it would allow it to begin construction of the all-inclusive playground Madisonʼs Place immediately.

"A goal we have been trying to reach for some time now," said Keana Millington, a board of directors member.

The foundation is asking for the publicʼs support by voting each day. Visit to cast your vote.
