Woodbury woman cashes in big through lottery game

A Woodbury woman claimed a handsome cash prize just in time to ring in the new year.

Karin Bruehl collected her $40,699 winnings on Dec. 30 after playing a MInnesota State Lottery game.

According to a news release, the award came as a surprise to Bruehl. Originally under the belief she had won $100 from the Crossword ticket she bought at Woodbury's Norma Lane SuperAmerica store, Bruehl learned the prize was worth exponentially more.

"She was shocked to learn that she won a jackpot worth $40,699," the release states.
