Council gives final approval on city's first solar garden
WOODBURY — GreenMark solar received final authorization to develop Woodbury's first solar garden.
Construction on the 35-acre solar garden at will start this spring at 6820 Military Road.
City Council members approved a development agreement at their Feb. 14 meeting.
Council members approved plans for the project in August 2017 with several conditions.
After neighbors voiced concerns over the nine-foot panels causing an eyesore near their homes.
GreenMark agreed to work with neighbors and city staff to ensure the panels are not visible from houses.
Among the solutions the company proposed to make the panels less visible was to plant another row of trees in addition to the more than 300 trees already included in the plan.
