Lease issue prompting changes at Central Park eatery

A familiar face in one of Woodbury’s most popular destinations could soon be home to a new business.

The city of Woodbury announced Wednesday it is seeking a tenant to lease the space currently occupied by Cups N Scoops at Central Park.

Requests for proposal – being sought through Oct. 11 – are being sought in response to the current operator discontinuing its lease. Jason Egerstrom, communications coordinator for the city, said Cups N Scoops currently leases the space to an operator who “is not interested in continuing to lease the space from the owners.”

He said it’s possible Cups N Scoops will find a new operator for the space through the RFP process, though bids are open to the public. The current operator sells coffee and treats, including ice cream.

The RFP announcement seeks a similar operation to go in the 759 square-foot space.

More information on the RFP process is available through city recreation supervisor Jodi Sauro at 651-714-3581.
