Art, science and technology on display at DaVinci Fest
The Partnership Plan of Stillwater Area Schools will host the annual DaVinci Fest, a celebration of art, science and technology, Saturday, Jan. 9.
The event is open to the public and will be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Stillwater Junior High School, 523 West Marsh Street, Stillwater.
Participants will be able to view student artwork and science projects from schools throughout the district. Both artwork and science projects will be judged with the top three science project winners eligible to compete in the state's Regional Science Fair.
Last year over 2,000 family members attended the DaVinci Fest, visiting with student scientists and artists and enjoying hands-on activities from a variety of exhibitors. Projects included bee keeping, maple syruping, cryogenics and freshwater mussels in a hands-on display.
Boston Scientific staff will be on hand to take blood pressure, the Army Corps of Engineers will teach about good and bad mussels, and the High School Physics Club will demonstrate their newest projects. Peregrine falcons, stability balls and robotics will also be featured, along with origami and ground water education. The district's STAR LAB will be on display.
All members of the community are encouraged to attend.
