District, office staff union reach agreement
School District 833 has agreed on a new contract with its district office support specialists.
The union of roughly 20 employees will receive a wage increase of 4.75 percent in the first year and 4.8 percent in the second year of the contract.
There also are changes to employee health insurance; one plan sees an increase in the district contribution in the first year, while other plans see decreases in the district's contribution.
The contract is for July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2018.
The South Washington County School Board approved the contract 5-0 on June 23. Board members Michelle Witte and Katy McElwee-Stevens were absent. Union members approved the agreement June 20.
