'Chitty Chitty' chugs along at NLA this weekend
New Life Academy’s fall musical, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” returns to the stage tonight after opening last weekend at the school.
The show is about Caractacus Potts, a failed inventor who lives in a big house with his two children who must raise money to buy a broken-down racing car for his children.
After a disastrous attempt to sell his invention of whistling sweets to the local candy maker, he finally gets enough money for the car by doing a dance routine at the county fair. Potts takes the car and transforms the vehicle into a shiny new car named Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” will continue this weekend, Nov. 14-15 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Visit www.newlifeacademy.org for information on tickets. (Staff photos by Amber Kispert-Smith)
