New principal hired at Middleton

Middleton Elementary has a new leader. 

On Friday. District 833 announced the selection of Sara Palodichuk as the new principal at Middleton. 

Palodichuk will be succeeding Julie Nielsen who was recently hired as  District 833's assistant superintendent for Academic Excellence and Accountability for elementary.

“I believe every child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially,” she said. “I am a strong believer in high expectation and accountability for all stakeholders and working collaboratively to accomplish excellence for all.”

Palodichuk, who is currently the principal at Somerset Elementary in West St. Paul, has been an an elementary principal for the past eight years.

She previously worked in District 833, from 1993-2006, as a classroom teacher, reading specialist and assistant principal.

Prior to Somerset Elementary, Palodichuk served as principal at Webster and Carver elementary schools in District 622. 

Palodichuk holds a master's degree in education from St. Mary’s University in Winona and a bachelor of science in elementary education from Winona State University

“Sara is returning to our district after successfully serving as an elementary principal for the past eight years,” Superintendent Keith Jacobus said. “She has extensive knowledge in literacy and elementary education, and has a positive reputation for helping teachers and school communities improve. We are looking forward to having her back in our system.”

Amber Kispert-Smith

Amber Kispert-Smith has been the schools and Afton reporter at the Woodbury Bulletin since 2008. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota. She previously worked as a reporter for Press Publications in White Bear Lake.
