Stillwater's Lunn a finalist for Iowa superintendent job

Stillwater School District Superintendent Corey Lunn is one of two finalists competing for the top job at an Iowa school district.

According to a Johnston Community School District news release, Lunn is vying for the superintendent’s job there with Michael Houselog, superintendent of schools in Belvidere, Ill.

Johnston Community School District is located in the Des Moines metropolitan area.

The candidates were on hand for a public meet-and-greet on Monday and Tuesday.

Lunn has been superintendent in Stillwater since 2011 and in 2013 helped the district pass a key referendum effort.

He and Houselog will vie to succeed outgoing Superintendent Clay Guthmiller, who is retiring on June 30 after serving in the role for eight years. The new superintendent begins on July 1.
