Man convicted of Woodbury drug deals sentenced

A St. Paul man convicted of selling crack cocaine in and around Woodbury was sentenced to a year in jail and a $3,000 fine.

Floyd Daniel Booher III received a 365-day jail sentence March 11 after pleading guilty in January to one count of first-degree narcotics sales.

Washington County District Court Judge Gary Schurrer stayed a 98-month prison sentence for Booher, provided the 33-year-old abide probationary terms for 20 years.

Booher was charged in September 2010 after members of the Washington County Narcotics Force conducted a three-month investigation into his activities.

The case began after a confidential informant told a narcotics force detective that crack cocaine could be purchased from Booher, according to a criminal complaint.

Officers conducted numerous controlled buys, beginning in late July in Oakdale.

The complaint states Booher made the last two of five controlled buys in Woodbury, both at locations near Weir Drive and Valley Creek Road. Prosecutors said Booher sold the informant between 2.3 and 3.2 grams of crack during each deal.

According to the complaint, Booher sold a total of 13.8 grams of crack during the transactions - more than enough to reach the 10 grams required by law to trigger a first-degree-level case.

Once released from jail, Booher must be placed in a sober-living or halfway house and remain alcohol and drug free for the duration of his probation. Schurrer's sentence allows the $3,000 fine to be waived in lieu of serving 300 community service hours.

Booher will receive credit for 164 days served in jail.
